Creator Notes

Kyle was the last of the main cast of characters created. Originally he was going to be a love interest of Tetra and friend of Tetsu that was possessed by Yoku throughout the series. But as I wrote / drew the previous version of the story I fell in love for the relationship that was building between Tetsu and Kyle. Thus the events (Spoiler) That cause Kyle to reject Yoku possessing his body. This also made Yoku more of a threat as a vengeful spirit that possesses bodies and tosses them aside as he goes using them as cannon fodder for his fight against Tetsu and Mai.

Kyle, is a major flirt. Up until he sees Tetsu/Tetra around he will flirt with women. However when around Tetra he goes gaga for her, He isn’t as bad as Mai and Ino’s father Spring.

Kyle is often the happy personality to counter Tetsu/Tetra’s serious nature. But is lazy and carefree to similar to Mai’s nature but he is easily looking to want to fight.

Mai and Kyle do not get along. Not only for their rivalry for Tetra’s affection, but for also having similar personalities that clash at time.

Kyle and his dad have a strained relationship, that later in the story as Kyle and Tetra start dating will come into play.

Kyle is known for being late to his jobs, to the point he is major trouble at the beginning of the story with his job at Coffee Hut, The only reason he is still has that job is the girls that come and buy coffee to talk to him.

As the story progresses Kyle will gain powers. (Spoiler) by appealing to prove himself to Spring that he as a human is willing to fight even when he has no chance of winning to protect Ino. Spring gives Kyle a fraction of his wind magic and the power of healing magic. He also places a curse on Kyle that when Kyle touches Tetsu/Tetra, That Tetsu/ Tetra will take on the look of how Kyle desires to see them. Often this results in Tetra appearing in skimpy/sexy outfits.

Kyle’s Force of Will however is something unknown and unusual about him, That of this time I have designed as part of his heritage. It makes him strong to mind effecting attacks, Which gives him a leg up on Tetsu.

Kyle and Hugh bleached their hair in their senior year (1stsenior year for Hugh) Hugh did his whole hair vs Kyle who just did a small patch… but Kyle left it in so long that it bleached white. Now it grows in white.

Kyle was a reimagining of another character in the first version of Demon Blade, a mage called Dago. In time parts of that character was used to create Kyle in the 2013 and current version as well as Lori Cassavette.
